In this hybrid role, you will work closely with senior consultants, data engineers, and client stakeholders to support the design and delivery of data-driven solutions for manufacturing clients in regulated industries.

Key Responsibilities 

• Collaborate with senior analysts and consultants to gather, document, and validate business and data requirements from client stakeholders.
• Support the mapping and analysis of existing business processes to identify opportunities for data-driven improvement and AI-enabled automation. 
• Assist in the preparation of functional specifications, user stories, and use case documentation for data and AI projects. 
• Conduct data profiling, quality assessments, and gap analyses to support data integration and migration initiatives. 
• Help evaluate and recommend data platforms, analytics tools, and AI/ML solutions aligned with client needs and regulatory requirements. 
• Contribute to the development of dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that translate complex data into actionable insights for clients. 
• Participate in workshops, stakeholder interviews, and cross-functional meetings to support requirements elicitation and solution design. 
• Assist with testing activities including the preparation and execution of test scripts for data pipelines and AI models. 
• Support the documentation of validation deliverables in line with GxP and other regulatory frameworks relevant to life sciences. 
• Stay current with emerging trends in data analytics, AI/ML, and digital transformation in regulated manufacturing. 

 What You Have to Offer  

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related fields. 
• Up to 2 years of professional experience in business analysis, data analytics, or a related consulting role in pharmaceutical or bio-healthcare company (internships and academic projects          count). 
• Foundational understanding of data concepts: databases (SQL), data modelling, ETL processes, and data warehousing principles. 
• Familiarity with at least one BI or analytics tool (e.g., Power BI) and/or programming languages such as Python. 
• Strong analytical thinking with the ability to translate business problems into structured, data-oriented solutions. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; German language proficiency is highly desirable. 
• Willingness to travel occasionally to client sites. 

 Nice to Have 

• Exposure to AI/ML concepts such as natural language processing, predictive analytics, or computer vision. 
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP) and their analytics services. 
• Understanding of regulatory frameworks in life sciences (e.g., GxP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11). 
• Experience with MES, ERP, or LIMS systems in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical context. 
• Experience working in cross-functional agile project teams.

As a Senior Data Engineer at FrontWell Solutions, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data solutions in alignment with the technical requirements defined by our System Analysts that drive operational excellence and support our clients' digital transformation initiatives. This position focuses on leveraging cutting-edgeAWS components and data engineering practices to ensure efficient data extraction, transformation, loading, and analysis. A key component of our approach will be the Data Mesh concept, which will guide our development efforts. You will act as a key technical resource, collaborating with internal teams and clients to deliver innovative data solutions that meet business needs and enhance decision-making processes.  

Key Responsibilities  

• Design, implement, and maintain robust ETL pipelines on AWS, ensuring efficient incremental data loading and detailed logging.  

• Write, optimise, and manage complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.  

• Leverage Databricks and Python for data integration, transformation, and analytics workflows.  

• Strong knowledge of Databricks, Delta Lake and Apache Spark. 

• Monitor and optimise data pipeline performance, identifying and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.  

• Ensure all data engineering activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and data security standards.  

What You Have to Offer  

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.  

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering roles with a proven track record of designing and implementing data solutions using AWS technologies.  

• Proficiency in SQL and Python or Scala programming and data management and processing. 

• Strong knowledge of Apache Spark, and Delta Lake. 

• Hands-on experience with AWS as hyper-scale cloud platform.  

• Strong knowledge of data modelling, API integration, and ETL processes.  

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and a quality mindset.  

• Excellent communication skills in English (fluency in written and spoken English).  

• Willingness to travel as needed for client engagements or other professional duties.  

Nice to have: 

• An understanding of the Data Mesh concept, which will play a crucial role in our development efforts. 

• Understanding of Azure Data Factory and Azure Services are nice to have.
